I downloaded the open source software called Yamipod. It enables you to copy music from your Ipod to your computer, or from your computer to your Ipod or someone else’s Ipod. Well it gives you some warnings to back up your Ipod and use at your own risk. I didn’t backup because that’s what I wanted the software for, my music was installed in itunes on a different computer and I don’t have access to that computer any more. So I wanted Yamipod to copy my songs from my Ipod to my Itunes library. After I started using Yamipod all my songs copied into Yamipod, but than my Itunes software wouldn’t recognize my Ipod and My Ipod showed no songs. I fixed it by going to the apple/ipod website and clicking on Ipod repair, which got my songs back on my Ipod. And then I downloaded the newest version of Itunes and then Itunes recognized my Ipod. I can’t recommend this software unless you do something different than me. If you find a software that copies Ipod music to the computer and works good let me know.

Sun Virtual Box

Last night I installed Sun Virtual Box. I installed Open Suse Linux on it. It works very well I have virtual box on Vista, and Suse works great on it. It only takes a couple of minutes to switch from Vista to Suse. You can also install on it win98, winme, winnt4, win2000 and winxp. Also some other Linux versions are Ubuntu, Fedora and Redhat. I like this very well they use it at the community college I go to and the best thing is the software is free. Oh and they are making it so you will be able to install Mac software. Just google Sun Virtual Box download.

Microsoft Skydrive

Microsoft Skydrive has been around for some time. But if you don’t already know about this service, it is free for uploading your files, pictures, videos, and resumes. You can let your network of friends see them, let everyone see them, or keep them so that only you can see them. You get 25GB of free space. This is great I wish I had my important files backed up on something like this when my hard drive went bad or when my Windows Operating System lost a critical file. Once I had a USB flash drive quit working on me. A couple of times I got a really terrible virus and had to format the hard drive. Enough said, I like this service and thought I would recommend it. Just do a search on Google for Skydrive.
